friday froth

remember these lovely chairs that I said I wasn't going to paint, but rather have them reupholstered with some fabric from mood and purl soho ?.... well here they are and I think they have completely stolen my heart!

patchy fog......

this has been the month for nurseries .... which I'm just pleased as punch about because if you know me well at all I am the baby freak! Love them and want to eat them!

I just finished this chest for "baby v" ..... my client miss "C" already knew what she wanted when she came to me {woo hoo}... she picked out the color and the papers and the knobs ..... and I just completely executed her ideas! I also painted a beautiful twin bed to match this dresser for when wee one is ready to move into her "big girl bed".

i did something sneaky today over at design sponge...

when grace first asked me to consider doing a sneak peek for D*s I totally chickened out and freaked out and all that goes along with that...... but when she asked again I figured I needed to get over myself and share! The home is so personal, it's like putting your heart out there for every one to see....... I hope you all enjoy seeing mine and learning more about me through what I find important enough to surround myself with everyday.

whole new attitude......

Well friends, here is the first of the furniture production for this month. This piece is part of a nursery that I am working on with my friend Teresa as the designer. Our client "miss L" inherited all of the furniture that I'm painting from her grandmother {two twin beds, this dresser and a nightstand} and it has been sitting in the attic awaiting its moment. "L" wanted to go with a forest theme {strictly NO pastels}...... so I went with this combo which I think is very sweet and foresty!!

I have also commissioned miss mollie from royal buffet to make a custom mobile for over the crib, incorporating some forest animals and such goodness..... I can't wait to see that! I will show you the whole room before and after when we are done ..... it is going to be something else I tell ya!

breathe

Today is a personal day ..... artist Rachael Madeline brought in several pieces for the February show at art and light and I have always loved the look and feel of her work. I have photographed it in several of my styled shots before here and here ...... but then one piece called "show me how" caught my eye and I had a moment of tears {happy ones of course} and knew that I wanted to look at it every day. The reason I want to look at it every day is ..... it makes me think of the man that I am blessed to have in my life and how he truly has taught me to breathe .... even underwater. I love you JB ... xoxo

my friday hankerin'

I have been eyeing these beauties for a very long time ..... I love the ruffles and the stitching and once again love the composition of the photos. You have to be quick to be one of the lucky ones .... there is a major frenzy every time new bags are listed! Maybe one day I will own a piece of hank , but oh my... how will I ever choose!

new finds and gray walls

I just had to post a couple shots of my new pieces . These chairs were given to me { yes GIVEN} and they are so gorgeous! Solid walnut and in too good of shape to paint. I can't believe those words even came out of my mouth! Anyway, I finally will get to put to use some gorgeous fabric I bought at Mood in NYC to recover the seat cushions and they will be fantastic! The hutch has so much personality I can't stand it ..... jury is still out as to what the final destination of this piece will be but I will show you when it is done. If you all have any good names I would love to hear them!

Last but not least a window shot .... and notice the lovely , perfect, amazing gray walls in the background! I had the studio painted this weekend and I wish I had done it a long time ago.

I had great fun today with my friend Rebecca shooting some of her new spring line!! Rebecca owns salon 864 & boutique here in Greenville, which offers a full service salon on one side and a boutique on the other side that is chock full of goodies..... {I'm so proud of you girl!}

Rebecca has an uncanny ability to bring in pieces that are not only fabulous but also affordable..... {not an easy task in the boutique world} ........ I am always seeking her help in the fashion realm .... because let's face it friends ..... I'm a hoodie and tennis shoes kinda girl ...... she sets me straight in a skinny minute!! :)
