non photogenic day.........

I tried to get some styled shots of my new pieces..."vernon", "george" and "bedilia" but they were totally uncooperative!! "vernon" is an armoire with a mirrored front, and he was totally more interested in taking the attention off himself and onto the cars going by on the street {he's just that kind of guy...more on that later!}........ "bedilia" was a little nervous because her drawers were not completely done and "george" was just grumpy ...... everything was blurry and too bright....so for today these little teasers will have to do, and I'm hoping for a crazy photogenic day today! {wink}

I'm LOVING these gorgeous new glass bottles I just got in.... I will try to shoot one with a flower in it ....... maybe.... fingers and toes crossed.......xo Pin It

another eat it......

since the first one went so fast....... I decided to do another "eat" table! this one is a little smaller {but still has the two leaves that come out from underneath}, more of a square and a darker finish.

I have had so much fun doing these tables! I love how a big graphic word and some great fabric for the chair seats gives the perfect amount of punch to a tired piece.....

have a wonderful monday my sweet friends! xo Pin It

got a little sum sumpin......

when I went to visit some family in Virginia this weekend....... ladies and gents....I'm not gonna lie..... a big draw for me is the JCREW clearance store .... NOT the outlet ...but the CLEARANCE store.....{attached to the warehouse}.

These lovely photos are what I came home with... and I don't want to gloat too bad and make you all turn into little green monsters .....so I'll just give you a little clue about how good the deals were! The cream silk garland cami in the brand new spring catalog is 88 dollars and I paid 20...........seriously...... and the rest only gets better! xo Pin It

{ guest blogger: Suzanne from S.HOPtalk }

Hello lovely Knack readers. My name is Suzanne and I am so honored and thrilled to be here today.  I have a blog, S.HOPtalk, where I love to share my favorite finds and inspirations.

It was serendipity that Barb invited me to hang out here today because I've had a project brewing the last couple of weeks and it all started with Barb and her recent guest post in which she featured her amazing Turquish Delight before and after project. I simply haven't been able to get that incredible turquoise color out of my head since. I was able to pacify myself {temporarily} by creating my own Turquish Delight inspiration board...

{Thank you Nichole for letting me borrow your lovely Paris blue photo}

Then, last week, I decided to go for it. If I couldn't have one of Barb's pieces for my very own {due to an annoying inconvenience of a few thousand miles}, I would have to follow in her footsteps and tackle my own before and after project. I selected a piece deserving of a makeover...the red bench on my front porch.

Almost done...but it needed a little roughing up

Some sanding and a quick hit of stain...much better.

New...with bits of its past peeking through.

With a half can of paint remaining, I'm already eyeing my next project...stay tuned.

Thanks so much for having me Barb and for the endless sources of inspiration I find here. I'm so excited to see you receiving all of the attention you deserve. You'll have to forgive my site stalking...it's something I must do until I'm able to visit Knack in person. Happy, happy day everyone! ~suzanne

New book alert.....

Just got the press release from Sixx Design regarding their first book Downtown Chic which will be available April 28th! The pictures are gorgeous and the inspiration endless!

The fact that they combine "sophistication with bohemian" and "old with new" is just music to my little ears! I can't wait to get my mitts on this one! To pre order your own copy click here for the goods! Here is a little more info about this talented duo......

New York City–based couple Robert and Cortney Novogratz have been renovating and designing unique and hip homes for families for over ten years. Describing their signature style as a sophisticated but bohemian mix of high and low, new and old, they offer their realistic advice on how to create original, warm interiors with ease. One part practical guide, one part inspirational volume on creating a look for the home, DOWNTOWN CHIC pairs humorous anecdotes about the pitfalls and pleasures of renovation with a treasure trove of decorating tips: how to use both boutique and flea-market finds; how to inject lots of personality into a room affordably; how to decorate kids’ rooms so they appeal to children and adults; how to easily rehabilitate outdated furnishings; and many more. In each of the ten projects featured—which include a townhouse in New York City, a country house in Massachusetts, and a beach house in Brazil—before and after shots document the agony and ecstasy of any renovation project, as well as revealing the design duo’s vision and remarkable ability to see through the most awful of spaces to the amazing home that lies within. I'm so proud! xoxo

eat it

I scored this table from a restaurant that closed nearby, and didn't know about painting it because of how the leaves slide in and out from underneath...... I was worried about the finish getting really torn up.

I stared and pondered for a few days and this is what I came up with. I already had the fabric for the recovering of the seats and felt like it went perfectly with my style of mixing a little traditional with a little modern..... I love it so much I want to eat it! Seriously....

have an awesome day ! xoxo Pin It

hello, major score.....

made a little visit to asheville this week and just had to have these fantastic stools! They are going to stay "as is" simply because they are PERFECT! Pin It

From knack's front door to yours.......

Today was a huge milestone day for Knack! One of my goals for this year was to find a carrier service so that I could start shipping my furniture out of state and into the homes of more people who need a little knack attack! I have been researching this for months because....... being a small company with small production, everything I looked at was crazy expensive and not cost effective for the customer {or knack} ... until now!! Today, everything fell into place........ and they picked up and wrapped and shrink wrapped my very first out of state delivery!!

I had to get a picture........and stood there and shed a happy tear as my pieces drove away on their big truck! One of my next steps is to get a page up on the website where you can purchase available inventory, but for now if you all see anything you just have to have ... shoot me an email and we'll get'er done real quick like!! xoxo Pin It

bertie

this piece was in such great shape...... except for the drawer which had a broken handle and extremely long oddly placed holes. so....... I wood filled the holes, added some of jess gonacha's buttercup print paper and a delightful yellow knob and...... hello bertie! bertie, bertie... you're so flirty! xoxo Pin It
