if you build it, they will come....

Hello friends! I hope you all had an awesome weekend! I had a super great one that included a little shopping spree with a beautiful college friend that I have not seen in a while....an estate sale where I purchased 6....yes 6 fantastic pieces that are totally knackable....{more on that later}... and rain!

As if that wasn't great enough, I have some very exciting news to share with you, and two beautiful ladies for you to meet! As my little Knack grows, new needs and opportunities arise, and I have been looking for team members to come on board and fill those needs.
So, I'm very excited to introduce you to Krystle who will be coming on part time, to help me with events, sales, and marketing. This girl has some serious energy, great personality, and a lingo like my own... which immediately drew me in! We met just a few weeks ago, but  have found that we have so much in common....even down to the fact that we have the exact same eyes.....which is a weird detail....I know....but I have never met anyone that had my same crazy eye colors.....until now! We are both so excited about all of the time we will get to spend together and the fantastic opportunities ahead!

And then we have Lydia who has taken over the books! Woot Woot! For those of you who know me well......you know how relieved I am to be able to pass this along! Miss Lydia is whipping me into shape and getting me so organized it is not even funny! I should have done this a long ....long time ago! There have been some painful 3 to 4 hour long sessions of hashing out numbers and such until I am literally feverish.....but we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I have known Lydia for 7 {my favorite number!} years, and she has truly become a part of our family. What started out, as a babysitting job here and there quickly turned into the only person we trusted our shorties with, and she has literally been the only babysitter my children have known. She is trustworthy, responsible, dependable, punctual, and the most organized person I know. I trust her with anything and everything that is important to me.

I am so excited, and grateful that two ladies as beautiful and talented as these would want to be a part of Knack. It is amazing I tell you!

Have a frabjous day friends!

sheepish...

My friend Dee has just finished a collection of artwork that will soon be in her etsy shop! I absolutely love the entire collection in all of it's furry, colorful, off centered goodness!  I immediately fell in love with little "sheepish".

I was not sheepish about purchasing him, and can't wait to add him to the ever growing collection of art in my hallway gallery.

I think it would be cool if the whole collection got snatched up before she could even list it!

Captured this shot at the studio last week, and the light speaks volumes.

It is so warm, bathing everything in goodness.

The furniture is cake.

knack's new look...

Well friends, the hubs and I have been working on this for months, and the day is finally here! I want to introduce you all to our new look! Knack received a little before and after of it's own!

business cards

new website
business cards and price tags
I was feeling the need for a cleaner, more timeless look for Knack and so I teamed up with the best , most talented graphics guy that I know... Jon Blair with Ignite Design (who you all may also know as my handsome guy, but that little detail is beside the point!) and he knocked it out of the park! There were a few things that I wanted to incorporate into my new look:
1. I wanted to incorporate the furniture into the logo
2. I love everything off centered, and tend to shoot my furniture that way, so the idea for the furniture coming off the edge of the card came out of that concept.
3. Turquoise and gray are two of my favorite colors and my most popular sellers, so it seemed natural to use those colors
4. I wanted the website to be clean, easy to navigate, and include larger photos.

I am so excited about this fresh new look for Knack, and have been dying to share it with all of you! I hope you likey like!

Happy Monday!

treat...

I discovered Sheepshead Design at the Brooklyn flea market, and immediately connected with their choice of medium! I am a goner for anything combining found wood and paint, but then throw in the New York skyline and ding, ding, ding we have a winner!

I came home with this guy, and it is my very favorite.

I did a little guest post over at Bliss, and shared a few more of my favorite artists if you would like to check it out!

My sister has created something new and beautiful for Fall. I really love the clean, modern feel of her design.

I don't think there could be anything my doors would like better than a sweater for the cool days ahead. I'll take two please sis!

Grab a couple for yourself as well in her etsy shop: Cranny

meet ferris...

Well friends, meet my newest friend! I had so much fun with this one , and am really pleased with the mixture of sophistication and fun all in the same piece. I painted the insets of the drawers a lighter gray, and love the way they add depth to the piece.

There is a client coming to give her a second look tomorrow, but if she does not find a home I will be listing her in the etsy shop on Thursday!

I had a lot of fun with the photo shoot for ferris, making use of the very inspired and colorful pages of the latest Anthropologie catalog. I taped a few pages to the wall, and they were exactly what I needed to get the creative juices flowing!

happy day to all of you!

more found platters...

...Can you even believe that two more of these lovelies found their way to me? I have one left from the previous batch: Colorado....and I now have Florida, and one that has  Vermont and New Hampshire together! I will have them all listed in the shop tonight! Pin It

the parade...

...Well friends, it was a very busy weekend at the Indie Craft Parade with over 4,000 people in attendance! It was a huge success, thanks to the amazing Elizabeth Ramos, and Erin Godbey who are simply genius!

I had so much fun talking to, and meeting new people, and seeing some of my favorite faces! Thank you to all of my sweet friends and clients who came by the knack booth to say hello, give hugs, and encourage me with your sweet words! You all are the best!

I'm also thrilled to have reconnected with so many of you First Friday friends who thought I had simply disappeared when I moved to the new studio....that may be one of my favorite parts of the show!

My absolute favorite though is, my daughter {mini "B"} came to ICP on Friday night and I hardly saw her at all because she was busy walking around introducing herself to all of the artists and collecting her favorite business cards. Some time later she ended up leaving with a friend for a sleepover, but on her way out the door she said "Mom, this is the most awesome event! I had so much fun, and am so inspired!" I didn't see her again until Saturday after the show, and she had spent hours with her little friend making crafts.....the little monsters above are two of their creations! How cool is that?! Indie Craft Parade may have some new vendors next year! {wink!}

It doesn't get any better friends!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

this week at knack....

1. these window and flea market displays really revved my color engine.

2. walked by this east village store to stop and stare at my cake plates in the window.
3. spotted my "eat" table in this frabjous east village apartment, and fell in love with pinky the ghost on top.
5. I visited "aerie" where she lives in times square, and once the word got out that I was the artist it was a full on party with announcements over the headsets and billboard fun! times square totally got it's knack on.
....there are still bits and pieces of new york creeping in this week.....and believe me I still have so many photos that will probably creep into next week as well....hope you don't mind!

Indie craft parade is tonight, and as you read this I am already setting up my booth! I'm excited to be part of this event, plain and simple...new friends are coming and there will be coffee and lots of fun meetings! I hope to be able to leave my booth in good hands and wander around a bit, then I will have more photos to add to the mix next week!

Hope you all have a very blessed weekend!
 xo

p.s. I also have a new piece to introduce you to next week:)
