happy, happy....goody, goody...

me & my party hat...it's a goody, goody

Popping in to say "Happy New Year " to all of you! I wish you a fun and safe New Year's Eve!
I hope this year brings you closer to those you love {and maybe even those you thought you couldn't love}, balance in all of the many things life brings, growth through challenges, and fulfillment of dreams.

We will be ringing in the new year with a small group of friends....munching on soup and sandwiches, and then later, a little fireworks and craziness.
I would like to apologize in advance to my neighbors for the banging of the pots and pans at midnight....and the bottle rockets on the roof....:)

peace out...

Oh what a fantastic year it has been! My mind is so full as I reflect on God's goodness to me and to my family....He has blessed us above all that we could ask or think!
I love this time of year, and the extra time to spend reflecting on Him.... His coming...His redemption of mankind....

.....I hope each and everyone of you has a very blessed and happy Christmas season! Thank you so much for your friendship and support, for leaving positive feedback and encouragement every day, and for purchasing my knackage to grace your homes! I will never lose the feeling of thankfulness and excitement each time one of my pieces finds a home! Thank you for being so awesome!

I will see you in the new year!
{.... and speaking of the new year....you all better hold on tight cause it's about to get a little crazy around here!}

tongue and groove lighting

I love so many things about each one of these photos, and have enjoyed being inspired by them all!

I have been wanting to paint a chalkboard wall for a while now......so, I plan on  painting a wall in my kitchen with chalkboard paint over the holidays!
I have put it off for too long! I will not wait another minute!
I also love the idea of a high table with chairs, coming off the chalkboard wall....hmmm maybe we'll be making a trip to IKEA too!

I have already warned JB to get ready!

meet cyri...

I was in love with this piece from the get go. I have done at least two or three of this exact same piece, but in the "adult" size! I just finished this "mini" version as a birthday surprise for a very special 8 year old girl. My client Nicole "stole" it from her mother in law's yard sale ....and even amongst all of the ..."what are you going to do with that ? It's a mess!" She soldiered on, and gave me a little ring a ling.

I was given complete free reign with this piece, and so I went to work coming up with a design plan. I tore out the old bottom and replaced it with a shiny new one, and I added a beautiful pink and navy floral paper to make it frabjous. I chose a blue stripe wallpaper for the drawer to pull in the blue from the flowers below, a little pink paint, some floral knobs and this little beauty is ready to belong again.

I love taking pieces like this one from "death row", and turning them into fresh faces for cool spaces!

When Nicole came to pick it up, she said : " I knew it would look better, but I had no idea it could look this great!"

Yessssssss, mission accomplished....

wrappin it up....

....I have been admiring and salivating over the JCrew windows this year, and then I saw all of this greatness over at Confetti Systems...

I think my windows would love me forever if I made them this sparkly and fun....maybe I'll think about something like this for upcoming projects in the new year.....hmmmm....

....but for now I am going to head off and have a fantastic weekend! My "baby" turns 12 tomorrow and we have a big birthday party at the horse farm where she and her friends will get to ride horses and hang out in the stables....we are all so excited!...

Hope you all have a great weekend!

unbelievable...

One of my sweet readers and fellow furniture rescuers, Susan Fudge from Retro Restyling, sent me something very special in the mail this week!
When I opened the packaged and found this perfect little knack replica ornament....I nearly fell out of my chair. The attention to detail from the little teeny tiny lined drawers and the newspaper flower is just absolutely unbelievable!

I love it, love it, love it, and it will be a year round ornament on my desk at the studio!

W Fan...

This past weekend Krystle and I stayed at the W Buckhead  in Atlanta while attending the Lavish conference. Everything about the hotel was fantastic! From the second we stepped foot in the door, the staff was ready and willing to make our stay an awesome experience.

The giant white antler chandy's had my attention from the get to the go, and the patterns and details in all of the fabrics and accessories were selected to perfection! Thom Filicia is the designer responsible for all of the beauty at this hotel, and I personally think he stinkin' knocked it out of the park!

Enjoyed this place.....very muchly!

Wallpaper indeed...

These beautiful wallpaper selections that joy cho of oh joy! designed for hygge & west  have my little heart going pitter patter, and are just begging to be used in a furniture transformation.

If you need a little pop of posh on your walls, the petal pusher in white and gold would be my pick!

ravishing, lavishing

well friends, krystle and I are off to atlanta this weekend for the lavish conference! I'm super excited about all of the experiences that will be at my fingertips, and the new friends I will meet! the opening party is tonight, and I had to have a fancy dress...I don't do fancy a lot....so, lucky for me, I have a friend who knew exactly what I would need...rebecca at salon 864 and boutique showed me  this little number, and I loved it at first sight!

I will be speaking on a panel along with grace bonney, ginny branch stelling, ashley meaders, amy osaba, and emily newman! I cannot wait to be in these girls presence...just looking at their blogs makes me frothy enough.....but, to get to listen to them speak...and then head out to dinner with them afterwards is almost more than I can bear! I'm super, super pumped and ready for a fun time!

There is also a big party on Saturday night with the Rue Magazine and HGTV  peoples!! Woot!

If you are attending, please come by and say "hello"!! I would love to meet you!

I promise to take lots of notes, and fill you in next week, but for now I better get my frock on, and get ready.....set ......GO!

winter wonderland....

For those of you that asked about the trees in my window... I thought I would give you the deets on them...

This year several of the artists in the district got together and decided to do white paper trees in all of the studio windows...to make them look pretty, and to impress all of the high rollers {from the city of Greenville- we need those grants and city funds!} coming to look at our little arts community!.....we each were given a roll of white paper, and some basic instructions to go by....

I was terrified of doing these trees because it is waaaay out of my comfort zone! Thankfully, my pal lily needed some help getting hers done too {strength in numbers!} so we combined skills.....she drew the trees like a pro, and I wielded a razor blade like a pro....and we came up with these....I love creative collaborations!

....The window looks so great lit up at night with these massive white trees...I think I'll want to leave them up all year round....:)

meet irene....

Can you even believe that I did not take a before photo? I do not know where my brain was, and I am so sorry....but hopefully you will enjoy the after anyway!
This table belongs to my mom.... she brought it with her from Cali.....but it was in need of a little ....{cough, cough}.....transformation love! So, my mom picked out her color and away we went!
I used my mom's middle name for this lovely, fresh lady because I thought it only fitting! My mom loves color,{hmmmm must be in the genes!} and I hope to get a shot of it all installed in her kitchen....if she'll let me :)
I went with very "moody" lighting for these photos....hee hee....I really had no choice....it just was what the studio offered the day I shot these! roll with it baby!

p.s. did you all get a load of the legs on this gal.....shawew!
