This week I scored a wonderful roll of wallpaper for... uno buckero....and it will be perfect for lining drawers..... perfect I say...

...Then I found these two little quirky treasures....

...one Pyrex bowl for my personal collection, and a ship cross stitch that is preshioso...

..love the soft neutral shades....and the birdies.....it will show up in some photo...and maybe I'll give a treat to whoever spots it....you know...like where's Waldo?

Welcome to Monday ladies and gents! I hope you all had a great weekend! It was chilly and rainy here the whole weekend.....BUT....both of our munchkins ended up spending the night with friends and so the hubs and I had a 24 hour date/dinner/movie marathon! It was fantastic!

The word "goody" makes me think of my newest friend....."Gussy". This piece was a beautiful little french dresser, but alas she had seen better days. I picked her up from a local dealer who was cleaning out his warehouse, and couldn't wait to get my hands on her! I wish the before pictures could capture how bad things really were, but oh well.....guess you have to trust me on this one!

I tried out a new paint on Gussy, and so far I am liking it, but want to try it several more ways before I give the verdict and full endorsement! I will be doing a full tutorial on my finds, and will be sure to let you know all of my tips and tricks. I can definitely see me adding it to my assortment of paints for those projects that require this specific look.

Gussy is painted in a very subtle and pretty shade of duck egg blue, and the knobs are yet another addition to my ever growing knob collection. I love the retro feel that they give this piece and yet they are neutral in color for versatility. Gussy is in the etsy shop if you would like to bring her home!

I shot all of these photos yesterday after dinner..I have missed my daily photo journaling.....so, I took a walk around the yard and just enjoyed all of the fresh green, and beautiful blooms....among the blooms was our adopted kitty....she is such a sass pot... look at the wind whipping through her hair.....love it!

This week on my thrifting jaunts the pickins' were a little slim, but I scored these two books! I have been searching for books that I can use for upcoming projects, and so I was totally stoked to find a French/ English dictionary, and a novel written in Russian? maybe....but who cares, it looks fantastic and I'll probably be ripping the pages out anywhoos!

I have these kilim rugs all over my home...and have mucho grande love for them! I wish that I could incorporate this idea.....but....

the only stairs in my home to do this to would be the ones to the walk up attic, and that would be a shame! hee hee!..... but I still stopped and paused at the color and beauty of this multi faceted runner.

Oh, and the gray trim and light fixture aren't too shabby either!

 Just like it is always good to have a little black dress on hand {for those events where it is only acceptable to wear black}..it is always a good thing to have a little black paint on hand as well.....you never know when you will need to splash it on and add some good old fashioned drama!

This color by RL is a favorite of mine....just the right amount of gray to make it the perfect black!

Introductions

 I get abnormally excited about designing and painting furniture.....I know....but seriously you all...this piece knocked my socks off, and I could not wait to get started on it! This fantastic sideboard belongs to a super beautiful couple, Eric and Bekki. When they approached me about painting it for them I was a little nervous since mister "E" is an amazingly talented artist, and color genius! The hubs and I visited their house for open studios and I walked through every room that was just bursting with color, collected goodness, and texture.....and was in absolute awe of the "coolness" that surrounded me! The dining room is where this piece will live, and the walls are bright orange! I can't wait to get a photograph of it in the room to show you...and a few more of this amazing old house with high ceilings and moldings galore....you all will get noodly and wobbly in the knees... Just a friendly warning.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand.....I had just gotten a brand new shipment of knobs in, and was super anxious to try these giant glass spheres out. I knew that they would go on this piece, but I just did not prepare myself for how much I would love them. I usually am not drawn to glass knobs in any color...especially clear, but when I laid eyes on these monstrous beauties, I knew there was nothing traditional about them! The overstated size and shape demand attention and a whole lot of respect! Whoa Nellie!
Other than the fact that this piece needed to be some shade of gray to blend with the new curtains being made, I had complete artistic liberty and went to town creating a plan that I thought would compliment the space.

What a ball I had....and I really was sad to see this giant leave the studio. It was so awesome to walk through the front door and see this first thing! Oh man.....what a love!

I have been trying to come up with a way to get all of my paint colors displayed nicely, so that when clients come to the studio to pick colors I can have something available that is both functional and pleasant to look at. These are the first 10, and there are plenty more to come. I am loving how great it is to see them all lined up....I get excited about painting just looking at them!

My kids are trying to raise money for missions trips, camp, new guitars, and puppies ( oh, help!) ...so they have been painting these for me, and then I will sand and do actual finishes on them......

...Now to think of a way to display them on the wall that is kind of like a really great art installment....any ideas to add to my own?

I hope you all have had a great week, and accomplished much. I had days this week where I felt like I was on top of the world and had everything in order , and then there were a couple days that I felt like throwing in the towel, like the night I ruined dinner....oh wait, make that two nights! .....but you take the good you take the bad and there ya have.....everything ya need to grow and change and be better on the other side! Cooking lessons anyone?

I was looking for something specific and had not noticed the torn and rubber banded box full of frabjousness.....

Could I love this rug, desk, chair, wall shelf combination any more? I think not!

I could literally sop it up with a biscuit....and it motivates me to clean off my desk at the studio....

I seriously should take a picture of my studio desk right now....you guys would have huge, gaping, wide open mouths....it is a despicable mess...

...but on Monday when I show you my new furniture friend that has kept me from cleaning my desk, you will forget all about it..... wink!

Hey guys! Did ya have an awesome weekend? Did ya enjoy 75 degree weather like we did here?! It was such a beautiful weekend, and it seems so strange that spring has come so early here this year.....with trees already in full bloom and daffodils popping up everywhere! 

 I want to introduce you all to Winifred! I was itching to use these gorgeous new beaded knobs that I added to my collection , and so when a sweet young couple expecting their first baby dropped this dresser by to get a little love from Knack, I knew exactly what the finishing touches would be! This is one of my all time favorite blues, and creating this piece was a total joy from the very beginning.
